Rapidshare, as the name suggests, is a service for files rapid sharing. The success of this website is insured by the “easy to use” interface and a high volume of ressources the service can handle.

The only problem about rapidshare is the fact that they haven’t implemented a search feature which makes the service a little bit unconfortable.

But why would someone search the rapidshare disks for information if the service is designed only for small groups (usually consisting of two people)? Are InterNet users spying on other rapidshare users’ uploads?

Non of us can tell, but we can easily tell that most of the bandwidth ressources are used for download activity instead of uploading files. So how do we do a rapidshare search?

Well, right now, you have two options:

1) using an online service, like rapidshare search;

2) by simply browsing rapidshare reviewing sites which consists in hundreds and hundreds of files listings shared on rapidshare.

Of course, #2 is based on the #1 technique, but you have the advantage of browsing well organised information (categories). A helpful website might be this one: rapidshare download.

Rapidshare is fun and you can find all sorts of files, but you have to be careful because not anyone shares legal stuff, and the file sharing service has limited control over the uploaded files by their visitors. You may find yourself downloading unlicensed or commercial products, copywrited material with no distribution rights and psssst… most of these aren’t legal ways of getting your hands on this kind of digital products, expecially movies, songs or software.

Of course, this is just a risk of using rapidshare, but I bet they are putting a lot of efforts on fighting against piracy.

To sum up, the rapidshare search is something easy to do nowadays, especially when we can use search oriented services like rapidshare search and rapidshare download.
